Parma striker Nicola Sansone has been turning heads in his first full Serie A season, and it has emerged that Arsenal has been watching the German-born forward.

The Premier League clubis reported have sent scouts to report on the 21-year-old during the second half of the season as he has impressed for Il Crociati, helping them to a 10th place finish in Serie A.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, it has become known that Arsenal sent staff members to watch Sansone on more than one occasion, suggesting he is a potential summer target with Arsenal thought to be in the market for forward players.

The former Bayern Munich youth striker, who has six goals to his name during his first Serie A season, is contracted to Parma until 2016, meaning the Ducali would be certain to attach a large price tag to his head should Arsene Wenger table a bid for the youngster.

Although German-born, Sansone has represented Italy at various levels, from Under 17 to Under 21, making his debut for the Azzurrini in a victory against Scotland. He joined Parma in 2011, but was immediately loaned out to Serie B Crotone.
